Touring Berlin Will Cause Your Jaw to Drop Like the Berlin Wall

While the world will never forget the fall of the Berlin Wall, the city continues to function as a noteworthy one that's definitely worth visiting. Berlin functions as both Germany's capital and the country's biggest city. Located in the northeastern region of Germany, Berlin is also the second most populated city throughout the entire European Union (EU)! Interestingly, the city isn't a mere concrete jungle composed of skyscrapers and highways. Roughly a third of the city consists of natural components, such as forests, parks, and rivers. You could easily spend an entire day enjoying the natural wonders of the Marzahn Recreational Park.  

Next, there's Berlin's TV tower, which is Germany's highest building and actually Europe's second highest building. Built from 1969-1972, the tower is the easiest way to get a bird's eye view of the entire city. In less than a minute, you'll find yourself over 200 meters in the air, and with a fantastic view of Germany's capital. You won't want to miss the Telecafe, which provides a breathtaking view of Berlin. The café turns on its own axis and makes a complete rotation in half an hour.   

Finally, there's Gendarmenmarkt, which is arguably one of the most attractive squares in Europe. Your visit to Berlin won't be complete without it. The square was designed in 1688 by J.A. Nering. It includes various notable sites, including the French Cathedral and the Konzerthaus. The church was constructed from 1701-1705, with the tower being added later.
