There are many people that travel to Berlin for many different reasons. The history in Berlin is one of the main things that draw people in to Berlin. No matter what time of year you are traveling there, you will want to know what to expect with the Berlin weather. This will help you better plan your trip and make the most of it. You will need to decide which time of year you like to travel so you can plan accordingly.

If you are traveling in the summer then you will find that Berlin has generally sunny summer days that run from June through August. You will be able to enjoy long days as Berlin has long daylight hours with warm temperatures. Watch out though as Berlin is know to have unpredictable weather at times, one minute you will have a glorious sunny day and the next, you will have severe thunderstorm. Always pack an umbrella with you just in case. You can be sure that there is a great deal to do during these months as they say Berlin becomes alive with festivals and celebrations all with plenty of outdoor activity.

If you are traveling in the winter then you will want to know that for the most part Berlin is known for harsh winter months. It can be bitter cold with dampness in the air. Winter runs from November through March. You will find that the temperature is usually freezing or near freezing both day and night. You will find that most tourists don't travel much to Berlin during the winter months but if you love the cold, the city will be quite and yours for the taking.

If you are looking for the best time to visit Berlin then you should plan your visit during what is called the shoulder months. This is the spring and autumn months. You will find the old saying true that- April showers bring May flowers. You will find that this is one of the liveliest times for the city as everyone comes out to play. It brings the city alive.

The average temperatures for each month are listed here to help you make your traveling choices much easier. January and February run around 0 degrees Celsius. March averages about 4.4 degrees Celsius. April gets a bit warmer with the temperature averaging 8.2 degrees Celsius. The temperature starts to peak then for the summer months so you will see temps around 13.8 degrees Celsius in May, 16 degrees Celsius in June, July with 18.3 degrees in July, August about 18.3 degrees, September will be around 14.4 degrees, October cools back down with 10 degree Celsius, November goes way down to 4.2 degrees and you end off the year with temperatures around 1.2 degrees Celsius.
